»Tango for Clarinet«

World Music
  • Laeiszhalle (Kleiner Saal), Hamburg

Elegance, precision and passion – that’s tango! Tango is far more than just an expression of love and emotion. It is music and dance with deep cultural roots and a variety of movements that require both technical skills and musical understanding. Tango Argentino is the original form of dance and a »dance of the people«. It originated on the Río de la Plata in the middle of the 19th century and reflects the living conditions in Buenos Aires and Montevideo at the time. People sought solace and distraction in music and new dances and melodies were created with Spanish, Cuban, Polish, African and Latin American influences.
