One of Thomas Zehetmair’s great strengths is his ability to reinterpret music as if it had just been written. As a violinist and conductor, he curates programmes that stand out from the crowd. Together with the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and clarinettist Daniel Ottensamer, Zehetmair explores a wide field: Hans Werner Henze’s sensitive String Sonata No. 2 stands in stark contrast to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s delicate Clarinet Concerto in A major – an ideal concert piece for the Vienna Philharmonic’s principal clarinettist, Daniel Ottensamer.

Irish composer Linda Buckley was inspired to write the brightly shimmering string piece »Fall Approaches« by an Icelandic poem – and not least by the vastness and beauty of Iceland. And Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, with its youthful lightness and chamber music perfection – the composer was just 19 when he wrote it – is a direct reflection on Mozart’s symphonic work.
