Scharoun Ensemble Berlin

Classical Music
Elbphilharmonie (Kleiner Saal), Hamburg
€28.00

When Franz Schubert wrote his Octet in 1824, he created a new setting for eight people, which has survived to this day. The Scharoun Ensemble formed in 1983 for this work and at its heart consists of clarinet, bassoon, horn, two violins, viola, cello and double bass. The members of the Berlin Philharmonic rank among the most fascinating chamber music formations and continually expand their repertoire with new works – as is the case in this concert, which is dedicated to the 100th birthday of Hans Werner Henze.
