PEKING und Salpeterhandel

Guided Tour

The PEKING was designed to transport saltpeter. This mineral was mined in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest regions on Earth with extreme temperature fluctuations. It served both as fertilizer and for the production of explosives. The approximately 60-minute tour offers insights into the harsh working conditions of both saltpeter mining and loading the "white gold" onto the ship and takes place every first Sunday of the month. HOW TO GET YOUR TICKET Please book a ticket via our online shop. Please ensure that you have selected your desired date and time. Up to six people can be registered per booking.
