Mari Boine
- Elbphilharmonie (Großer Saal), Hamburg
In Bavaria they yodel, in Scandinavia they joik. And the figurehead of this Nordic musical tradition is singer, songwriter and activist Mari Boine. Since the early 1980s, she has released 14 albums, toured internationally and brought the traditional joik, the ancient form of singing practised by the Sami people in the Arctic regions of Sweden, Norway and Finland, to warmer parts of the world. She brings her latest album, »Alva«, to the Elbphilharmonie with her as part of the »Arctic Voices« festival.
