Manchester Collective
The Manchester Collective is well-known for its innovative and creative performances at the cutting edge of classical music. With experimental programming and unexpected musical collaborations, these talented musicians are committed to thrilling their audiences with radical new sound experiences. The title of their latest project »Albion, Now« puts the ancient word for Great Britain in the context of the contemporary British music scene to reflect their love of blending old and new. We will hear some striking new British compositions including Christian Mason’s lively and spirited »Sardinian Songbook« and Anna Meredith’s »Tuggemo« string quartet that evokes images of swarming flies by combining electronic and acoustic elements. Be prepared to be mesmerised as the Manchester Collective draws on the rich legacy of myths and legends from ancient England and weaves them into a new, contemporary soundscape!
