Since 2011, the KBL has offered runners the unique opportunity to access the bridge and thus enjoy the incredible view over the port of Hamburg.
At the same time as the bridge's 40th anniversary in autumn 2014, it was decided that it should only remain standing until 2030, before a new structure would replace the popular Hamburg landmark and the essential transport link in the Port of Hamburg.
Until then, we'll carry on cheerfully. Every year on German Unity Day ( October 3rd ), we invite runners to take a steep walk on the bridge to mark the occasion.
