KAFFEEMUSEUM BURG - Vom Anbau bis zur Zubereitung, von Mocca bis Espresso

Exhibition

This event is part of the series:

Hamburg is one of the most important cities in the world for the coffee trade.

In the heart of the World Heritage Site, in the 1896 warehouse, you'll experience a unique collection that takes you on a journey from cultivation to trading post to the shop of yesteryear. In the Speicherstadt's only vaulted cellar, the Coffee Museum reveals everything about the prima donna of cultivated plants. Historical tools and machines, roasters and mills, tableware, advertisements, and curiosities demonstrate why Hamburg is the coffee capital.

On the ground floor, we still roast our rare coffees using traditional methods in a roaster from the 1930s. In our café, we present coffee cocktails perfect for enjoying at night.

On the ground floor:

  • Traditional coffee roasting
  • Demonstration roasting with the Van Gülpen drum roaster from the 1930s
  • Café Cocktails in the museum café on the ground floor
  • The café and shop are open.

Admission is free
