Steife Brise launches official world record attempt with the longest continuous theatre performance in the world!

The Hamburg-based improvisational theatre group Steife Brise is embarking on an extraordinary experiment: From September 3rd to 6th, 2026, the ensemble aims to set an official world record on the HAFENBÜHNE stage at the PIERDREI HOTEL – with the longest continuous theatre performance in the world. A full 86 hours of uninterrupted improvisational theatre are on the program.

The audience can expect a diverse program: from improvised murder mysteries and spontaneous musicals to popular classics like improv shows. The unique appeal: every scene is created live on stage – without a script, but with maximum enthusiasm, creativity, and direct interaction with the audience. Even in the middle of the night.

The world record attempt is part of Hamburg's Theatre Night on September 5th, truly making it a long night of theatre! Tickets for Hamburg's Theatre Night are also valid for Saturday.

The world record attempt is officially registered with the Record Institute for Germany and will be monitored and verified accordingly. Furthermore, the project is part of the "Long Night of the Theatres," which takes place on the same weekend – our performance will truly make it a "long" night.

Under the patronage of Yared Dibaba, the HAFENBÜHNE in Hamburg's HafenCity will become the venue for a unique theatre marathon.
