I AM DIFFERENT

I am different is a reflection on the experiences of a brown, migrant, non-conformist and non-binary person in the world of ballet. Ricardo Urbina redefines the traditional pas de deux of ballet and breaks up the traditional division of roles. Inspired by a muxe, considered Mexico's third gender, this project offers a space to tell their own stories. Muxe break the binary with a rich cultural heritage that dates back to pre-colonisation times.
