Conrad Tao / Piano Recital

Classical Music
Elbphilharmonie (Kleiner Saal), Hamburg

Child prodigy, brilliant performer, award-winning composer: Conrad Tao seems to know no limits. He gave his first piano recital at the age of four, began his musical training at the Juilliard School in New York at the age of nine, and wrote his first piano concerto at the age of 13. Today, in his early 30s, he has long been an international star and is considered »a musician who will shape the future of classical music« (New York Magazine). In his recital debut at the Elbphilharmonie, the American presents a magnificently multifaceted pianistic tour de force: Here, jazz legend Art Tatum meets the »last romantic« Sergei Rachmaninoff with his magnificent Symphonic Dances; George Gershwin and Robert Schumann join hands across time and genre boundaries; Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy provide colorful French flair. A unique evening with an absolutely exceptional talent.
