I dreamed of bodies moving words, of unsettling definitions, of language permeating the fluid physicalities of becoming together.
Anatomy of Words is a choreographic exploration of everyday gestures, inviting the audience to expand their perception of the familiar. Step, push, pull, turn, hop, fall. These words form the basis of the work, which combines movement, music, and text. For this project, choreographer Venetsiana Kalampaliki is collaborating with dancers from Dance Well Klub—a dance club for people with and without Parkinson's disease. The piece deals with how we see and hear through dance and explores the poetics of audio description and the materiality of subtitles.
