The soloists Albrecht Mayer (oboe), Theo Plath (bassoon) and Fabian Müller (piano) invite you to an extraordinary evening of chamber music that is entirely characterised by French sound culture. With incomparable elegance, esprit and subtle melancholy, the musicians present a multi-faceted programme that focuses on the masterpieces of the 20th century.

The focus is on rarely heard jewels of French chamber music: the trio by Jean Françaix and the late sonatas by Camille Saint-Saëns, works that fascinate with their subtle sophistication and special richness of tone colour. The programme is complemented by impressionist piano pieces by Maurice Ravel and the neoclassical trio by Francis Poulenc, which impressively reflect the stylistic diversity and innovative power of the French musical tradition.
