"Wild on picture" - From curiosity to species protection

On June 19, 2025, at 6 pm, it will be exciting and animalistic at the same time! Join us on a tour of Schwerin Zoo, where curator Dr. Gero Seelig and zoo and environmental educator Sven Peter will share their diverse perspectives on animals.
Whether rhinoceros, tiger or cassowary - these animals are at home both in the museum's impressive collection of paintings and in the zoo. The Staatliches Museum Schwerin is known for its lifelike animal paintings, which still have a high show value today and can be admired again from October 30. You can already experience the real animals at the zoo.
Participants will learn interesting facts about the museum's painted menagerie and about species conservation in modern zoos. Look forward to exciting insights, interesting facts and perhaps a surprising discovery or two!
Be there when art and nature meet - we look forward to your visit! Our tour starts at the Red List Center near the lions.
Tickets are available for €7.50 in advance from the Zoo webshop, at the Zoo ticket office or at the Zoo ticket office on the evening of the event. Please note: There is only limited seating. We cannot guarantee that there will still be tickets available at the box office. It is therefore best to book your tickets in advance. Annual pass holders can attend free of charge, but must register by e-mail to info@zoo-schwerin.de by 12.06.
