Blues: a musical genre derived from the English word "blue", which means sad. The lyrics are about longing, pain, suffering and, of course, love. All predominantly wrapped up in melancholy and wistful sounds. Created by African-American slaves, who used it to make their monotonous work more bearable, a style of music emerged that produced great songs.
