Boogie and Rock 'n' Roll in the spa gardens Baltic resort Boltenhagen
On two pianos and one drum set, PIANO POWER STATION makes boogie and rock 'n' roll shine in a completely new rocky glow. The fresh and creative playing style of the three musicians is absolutely transmitted to the audience. The repertoire includes not only their own songs but also newly arranged titles by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, old rock 'n' roll stars and classical composers.
Harald Wittkowski, the head of the band, has helped write a piece of East German music history. In the 80s he became known with the electronic duo POND. In addition to many radio and TV hits, he recorded several LPs and CDs and the film music for the 10-part television series "Auf der Seidenstraße" (On the Silk Road). After working as a solo pianist at the Berlin theater "Die Kneifzange" in 1993 and rediscovering his love for the natural piano, the trained musician and piano teacher founded the PIANO POWER STATION with his then master student Hendrik Hache in 2000. The drums were played until his death in 2004 by Frank Hille, formerly of the "Veronika Fischer Band". Robby Hund, who came from the blues, joined the band as a new drummer in 2005. Martin Zöllig took over the second piano part in 2010. He won 2nd place in the "Jugend komponiert" competition with a jazz composition in 2004.
