The Johann Matthias Sperger District Music School is establishing a new concert series entitled Musica et cetera. Teachers and their existing ensembles are given a high-profile opportunity to perform in order to motivate and musically stimulate pupils and interested concert audiences. The debut event "Waking and Dreaming" starts with the Christine Walser Piano Trio and the Parchim poet Jörg-Ulrich Helgert Ι JUH as well as oil acrylic paintings by Annette Schmucker, a concert for all the senses. The performers are Eckart Praetorius - violin, Volker Schubert - violoncello, Christine Walser - piano. The Swiss singer Christine Walser sang arias from operas and operettas as a mezzo-soprano on major stages for three decades before becoming a singing teacher and returning to the piano as the focus of her musical activities. Principal Volker Schubert plays the violoncello with his many years of chamber music experience, while his musical friend from his youth Eckart Praetorius plays the violin congenially.
The program includes romantic piano trios by Friedrich von Flotow, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Jörg Ulrich Helgert Ι JUH reads his poems, which were written to accompany the oil acrylic paintings by Annette Schmucker. The pictures will be projected onto the large LED wall. Admission to the concert is free. The Solitär opens at 3 pm with a cake buffet.
