The German Derby takes place annually at the beginning of July at the Horner Racecourse in Hamburg. For a week, the big Derby meeting is all about fast horses, exciting betting, and entertainment for all ages.
The IDEE Derby Meeting is one of the most iconic events in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Where walkers usually enjoy nature and simply take a break from everyday life, everything revolves around galloping, betting, and excitement on the track. The IDEE Derby Meeting is a large, beautiful meeting place for Hamburg residents and guests from all over the world.
As always, the absolute highlight is the IDEE 156th German Derby , which will be run on Sunday, July 6, at the historic racecourse and offers prize money of 650,000 euros. On this day, the successor to "Palladium," who won the Derby last year and marked a first for jockey Thore Hammer-Hansen, will be sought. The IDEE Derby meeting focuses on the sport itself, with up to 12 races per day, but Horn's legendary track is also an attractive meeting place for families and horse fans. Inside the grounds, visitors will find a large market square and a children's area.
