Bach & Feininger

The once important trading city of Stade is today considered an "organ city" with a central role in the history of European organ building, notably through Arp Schnitger. In the Gothic hall church of St. Wilhadi, students from the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre will present works by Johann Sebastian Bach alongside fugues by Lyonel Feininger on the Baroque organ by Erasmus Bielfeldt and the new choir organ by Jens Steinhoff. The concert is part of the 2026 Bach Festival special project "The Art of Fugue" .
